The source of my inspiration this week was the work of John William Waterhouse(1849-1917). Though he is often considered a Pre-Raphaelite painter for the technique, his work is more neo-classical in theme. He paints the femme fatale of roman myths, and poems of Keats and Tennyson. His colors are striking expressions of the story of these women. My Sweet Rose is a very poetic painting, and ode to the beauty of the lady in the painting. The colors are soft blush, grey, and a contrasting sunshine gold with a hint of wood. The short repeats will give the knit fabric gentle touches of color.
