The source of my inspiration this week was the work of John William Waterhouse(1849-1917). Though he is often considered a Pre-Raphaelite painter for the technique, his work is more neo-classical in theme. He paints the femme fatale of roman myths, and poems of Keats and Tennyson. His colors are striking expressions of the story of these women. The Crystal Ball, shows a beautiful, dark, mysterious woman, dressed in sanguine red velvet. The impact of the red is magnified by the purple curtain and the butterscotch furniture. The short repeats will give the knit fabric intense touches of color.
